Title: Finance for non-financial managers
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
IREX Europe is seeking a Financial Management trainer, ideally with experience in Financial management in the Broadcast Media industry.
The selected trainer will conduct 5 workshops of 4 days duration in Belgrade at Radio Television Serbia. The first workshop is scheduled 5-9 May 2008.
Aim:
To provide those with no financial training with an understanding of the essentials of financial management, financial processes and financial records, developing their managerial ability through a better understanding of the financial aspects of running a business. It will be based on public finance methodology but will introduce participants to some of the key financial tools of the business world
Scope of Work:
Anyone in a managerial or supervisory position, especially in production and programme areas, who wants, or is required, to develop their knowledge of financial practices to improve their managerial skills
Key topics covered:
- Who uses financial information, and why?
- Financial planning and the annual business cycle
- Managing departmental budgets, forecasting outcomes, reconciling budgets with actuals
- Controlling costs
- Management accounts and their purpose, and other financial reporting
- An introduction to profit & loss accounts and the balance sheet
- Understanding the importance of cash flow
- Understanding basic accounting and how transactions are recorded
- Depreciation, amortisation and the essentials of capital investment
- Using performance indicators in management
Previous training experience in the Balkans is prefered. A working knowledge of Serbian is an assett.
